Janice is a full-time professional African- American voice actor, with a quality home studio, able to deliver tracks and demos on demand. Raised by a family of skilled “storytellers”, Janice can tell a great story. And having spent many years in the medical and allied health arena, she loves everything related to medical narration. Janice knows how to “tell the story” of medical narration. She is pleased that her time as an audiologist prepared her for a career as a voice talent. Years of pitch modulation, microphone use and audio equipment calibration work has been a big plus. Kids are among her most favorite people on the planet and it is evident in her love of teaching. Her love for piano, theatre and painting resonates in her reads. She adds authenticity, warmth, boldness and power to projects.

Janice’s Early Life and Exposure to the Arts

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, now a resident of Maryland, Janice was exposed to the arts at a young age. Her fond memories of attending performances at the historic Karamu Theatre and Cleveland Play House left a lasting impression and love for the arts. While helping her son pursue his acting career, she discovered the world of voice acting. With the skillful guidance of multi-award winning coaches and demo producers, her journey in voice acting began. Expecting to use her background in health sciences and medicine, medical narration voice over was at the top of her list. After a few sessions with a dynamic animation coach, her interests broadened. As a voice actor, Janice is excited to have a platform where she is able to explore and express her creativity.

A Voice Talent: Warm – Relatable – Refined

Known for her tantalizing culinary creations and her calm, refined voice, Janice has grasped the reins of the voice over industry. Selected as one of 48 finalists of over 1800 auditions, she was crowned Audience Favorite (Commercial & Promo) in The Ultimate VO Survivor Take 3 competition. She is inspired by this tremendous recognition. Janice is incredibly grateful to use her training and experience working with patients as a speech pathologist/audiologist and in the medical field. She draws from those experiences to bring authenticity to her reads. Having grown up in the urban, industrial city of Cleveland, Ohio, she has joined forces with the Environmental Justice Ministry at her church in Maryland . It is her honor to use her voice in support of this important cause; to help eradicate pollution in urban neighborhoods.
